Buzzing Around the World (Part 3)

The army was a strong force. They were led by the Queen Bee, Amelia. She had to protect her newborns: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, Winter, Summer, Fall and Spring.

Meanwhile, the honey bee family was planning their Dog Rescue Mission — saving the dog that the bee army had trapped in sticky honey.

Max had the first idea. “In the control room I saw a map of this place so here’s my plan: Dad acts as a clumsy army member to distract the army. Mom, you can try to hit buttons to disrupt the hive by pouring honey out of the honeycombs, and bro, you and I will free the dog from the traps.”

“I don’t think that’s going to work,” Levi said.

“Why?” Max asked Levi.

“Well, on my patrol around the hive I saw the Queen Bee yelling, “More soldiers!” Levi said. Then he said, “Soo, Mommy would be seen hitting buttons, and Daddy, some soldiers might be busy with him but if more came, they would see Max and me trying to free the dog!”

Cleo commented, “Then we can change Max’s plan a little bit.”

“Um…what do you mean?” Max asked.

Cleo responded, “What I mean is the idea you have, Max, can be modified. For example: I can fly above the doorway and use my stinger to hit buttons so no one will see me. Do you get it?”

“Yep!” Bill, Max and Levi said together. Bill said, “But that would make them wonder what is the black thing hitting the buttons, so they’ll enter and see you, Honey.”

Max added, “I don’t have any ideas for me, Dad, or Levi!”

Levi thought, then said, “The Queen Bee!”

“What?” Cleo, Bill and Max asked together.

Levi responded, “Mom and Dad talk to the Queen Bee, Max and I find a way to talk to the headsets of the soldiers using the Queen Bee’s words!”

“What?” Bill asked.

This time Max responded, “You and Mom make Queen Bee say stuff like, “My babies!” or “My dog?” to distract the solders. OK, does everyone get it now?”

“YES!” they all said together.

“Now go!” Levi yelled and the family flew into the hive. Cleo and Bill went to talk to the queen,  and Max and Levi went into the control room to find the microphone cable so they could speak into the soldiers’ headsets. Max went under the main panel. “What are you doing?” Levi asked. Max told Levi the sentence in baby buzzing, the secret language he learned at sleepaway camp, so the guards wouldn’t understand. But Levi didn’t understand, so it sounded like, “Mf lcde fobeleten!”

Max actually said, “Go find Mom and Dad!” Levi looked online to decode Max’s words and found the translation. He went to Cleo and Bill. They had made a plan: Cleo would say into the headsets of the soldiers, “My babies!” and Bill would say, “My dog?”

Levi saw Cleo say to the Queen Bee, “Helloo, why are you stressed out?”

Levi flew as fast as possible and told Max, “NOW!”

Max played with the wires and connected them just in time. “My babies are the reason why I'm so stressed out!” the Queen Bee yelled, but Max only recorded her saying: “My babies!”

Cleo thought about the plan and said, “Bill, you need to stay here and say “My dog?” if the soldiers go back to their original positions. “I will bee the lookout!”

Bill asked, “What about the boys?”

Cleo yelled back, “I’ve got them covered, find a hiding place. Take this!” It was a golden watch!

“Happy Christmas?” Cleo said, in a weird way. She flew to the control room and said, “Merry Christmas,” not in a weird tone because she figured out what was wrong.

“What does it do?” Max asked.

“We can talk to each other and it has cool gadgets!” Cleo said. Bill didn’t know what to do with this new watch so he put it on and started to hide.

“Go!” Cleo said to the boys. She started to look at the hive when she saw the army coming. Levi and Max were trying to stop the dog from whining. “How’s the dog doing? They heard their mom say.

“Feisty” Max said, but he heard, “Chhh” back!

“Hello?” Levi asked. They tried Bill’s number and that “Chhh” sound also came back. They were about to break the last dog trap when they heard, “Hello!” from behind them!

The “Hello” was followed by an evil laugh…
