Ok so where was I? Yes, we never became friends until one day, it was a Friday afternoon and we had just proven to Larry the Lion I was king of the jungle when we saw DEXTER TRAPPED IN A CAGE! Alex ran away from the scene while I stayed thinking about running away or freeing Dexter. I went with freeing Dexter. Before even thinking about a plan I rushed into the open field. I used my teeth to break one wire around the cage. “LOOK OUT!” Dexter told me over and over again until it was too late. I felt some metal chomp around me.
Two seconds later I was in a truck and I saw Alex slithering behind the truck. Next thing I knew I was in a high safety zone in a zoo. “Hey, thanks for trying to help me get out of the cage” a voice said behind me.”Um sure?” I said with discomfort. I was relieved when Alex came out of the bushes with pliers because I did not have to stay in this awkward conversation. “Hi,” he said. “Let’s get you out of here before Dexter finds out I broke you out.” ”WHAT? I want to break him out too!” I said loud enough so Dexter could hear. ”WHAT!” we heard Dexter say. ”You’re leaving without me!” “Well, he wanted to leave you,” I said. “FINE!” Alex yelled at Dexter and me. Alex clipped the cage open and he said he wanted to break all the animals out of the zoo. ”You go,” he yelled behind us.
The next few days Alex didn’t trust Dexter at all but I did. But one day my trust went too far! It was a Sunday evening and I was going to an abandoned temple… Hold on, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Alex read the note behind my shoulder. ”Don’t go,” he said behind me. “Jealous,” I mutter under my breath. I could not focus on my class because I was so excited to meet Dexter after school. “Tobias, TOBIAS wake up!” I heard my teacher say.” “Sorry,” I said. School let out at 3:30 and it was 3:26. 4 more minutes, now 3, now 2, now 1, BOOM!
“Come on,” AIex said to me. “No!” I yelled back. “I’m going to the temple!”
I headed to the temple and met Dexter there. “HELLO” Dexter said with a grimace smile! “Come closer,” he smiled. “Um,ok,” I said. I slowly moved forward. CLANK! I was back in the zoo in 2 minutes. “WHAT are you doing here?” I asked in a high tone to Dexter. “Ha, you’re so gullible,” he says in a tone that made me start to wonder if he was actually pure evil.
“Y…you monster!” I yelled at him. “You didn’t take Alex’s advice?” he asked. He laughed as he walked away. I thought about all of the times Alex told me “don’t do it” or “no, don’t go.” I realized he was right all along and here and there I called him jealous and rude.
Swish swish, my friend came out of the bushes. “I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry,” I said in a very sad tone. “Okay okay, stop being so sad and let’s focus on breaking you out of here,” Alex said to me. “Right right,” I said, holding back more tears. “So… how we are going to break me out without any alarms going off?” “Hey I know,” Alex said [he’s the smartest animal in class]. “We can call our friends,” he said as he winked. He made a loud sound of animal noises [it almost broke my ears].
“WHAT IS THAT!?” yelled unicorn guards nearby. “Attack!” yelled Alex as a giraffe, an eagle, a dog and her pup, a penguin, and a poison dart frog jumped out and attacked and distracted the unicorn guards. Alex clipped the cage open and we felt successful until… “BEEP BEEP BEEP!” A voice came over the loudspeaker and said, “You really thought you could stop me?” It was DEXTER!
“Set lockdown mode,” said Dexter, but his voice was lower. The puppy heard this and said “No.” The mom was next. “NO” she said. Then they all started to yell, “NO!” “Find him,” the mother dog said. Alex nodded.
It took us pretty long but we thought we found Dexter’s control center. “Are you sure this is right? “ I asked. “No, I don’t think this is it,” said Alex. “I’m going to try that building that says Dexter on it.” "Ok," I said in a scared voice. I saw traps and it all seemed so terrifying.
I remember what my spirit roar class teacher told me: “You are very strong energy.” I passed the traps and ran right into DEXTER! That meant Alex chose the wrong building. “Hello,” Dexter said with an evil laugh. I got scared. “If you come closer, your best friend will get destroyed by my pet, the crusher!”
“You’ll hurt Alex if I come closer?” I asked. “Umm yes?” He said but he looked confused. “Come!” I yelled and ALL the animals came! “You said I can’t get closer but they're closer, not me!. He powered up the crusher anyway but I was a step ahead. I broke Alex free. And I called the chicken police.
Two minutes later they had captured Dexter and brought him to his dimension. Next time if something comes to hurt us, Alex will always stick by my side in the face of danger, and I will try not to fall into things. And I know if we need help we can always call our 6 friends to help us out.
